Ottawa, ON (Sports Network) - Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson will miss at least a week's worth of action while recovering from a fractured jaw, the team confirmed Thursday. Alfredsson suffered the injury when he was struck in the face with a puck Tuesday in Colorado. The 36-year-old forward will undergo x-rays on the jaw in seven to 10 days to determine the status of his recovery. In 55 games this season, the 13-year veteran has compiled 17 goals and 35 assists.
